Uzbekistan is running a secret programme to sterilise women. Most of the time it has been done without their knowledge or consent.
In Uzbekistan life centres around children and a big family is the definition of personal success. Adolet comes from Uzbekistan, she always dreamed of having four children ( two daughters and two sons), but after her second daughter she could not get pregnant. She went to see a doctor and found out that she had been sterilised after giving birth to her daughter by Caesarean section.
She was shocked and when she asked the doctor “How could they do that?” The doctor answered: ‘That is the law in Uzbekistan’
